The annual 24 hour race - held at Snetterton, Norfolk since 2003 and Mondello Park in Ireland before that - is the showcase event on the 2CV racing calendar. 2010 was the 20th anniversary of the first 24 hour race - a lot has changed since then, but the ethos of the racing hasn't!

In 2010, the race took place on the weekend of the 21st/22nd of August.

In the beginning... In 1988 a handful of motor-sport loving 2CV drivers went to see the Belgian 24-hour race for 2CVs at Spa Francorchamps; they came back amazed and keen to start racing in the UK. The 2CV Racing Club was formed and, using modified regulations from 2CV Cross, it managed to get a four-race championship up and running for 1989. |

In 2009 the club will be able to celebrate 20 years of 2CV racing in the UK. It's come a long way - in 1989 the cars were virtually standard, including the suspension, leading to some very pronounced body roll! Yet still, the club maintains the ethos that got it started in the first place - low cost, affordable, exciting racing. Here's some footage from the 7th of May, 1989 of the first ever 2CV race, held at Mallory Park in Leicestershire. |
