Message from Martin Harrold:
"Some of us have been working on plans for promotion of various Club events in '09. One task has involved selecting a title for the 20th Celebration weekend at Mallory Park in May. That involves a 2CVGB meet all weekend, a track day on the Saturday and a BARC race meeting with two 2CV races on the Sunday. We wanted a catchy title, and have narrowed it down to the following possibilities."
Please vote for your favourite! 1) ‘Classic 2CVs In The Park’ Celebrating 20 years of Citroen 2CV racing
2) ‘2CVs In The Park’ Celebrating 20 years of racing classic Citroen 2CVs
3) ‘Pilotes In The Park’ Celebrating 20 years of racing classic Citroen 2CVs Please vote using the poll feature at the top of the page. If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to post them!

What About 'Brie in the Park' Sub title 'French Classic 2cv race festival' Or '2cv Jubilee' It rhymes and rolls of the tongue well.

Andrew:
Good, good, keep on thinking. We've run into a bit of a problem with the event title. Clearly 'Classic 2CV's In the Park' is favourite. But, John Ward at Mallory said today that there is an event already on his calendar called 'PPC In The Park', which is just two weeks after ours. That is sponsored by a magazine and will get a lot of promotional publicity. As they are so close, he'd rather that we came up with another title to avoid any possible confusion.
Oddly, he's never heard of anyone before calling any event there ' . . . . . In The Park'. It's just an annoying coincidence that someone else got there first.
How about 'Classic 2CVs By The Lake'?

As it's a celebration of 2cv racing for 20 years, shouldn't the word "racing" appear in the title somewhere?

As everyone seems to be pitching in, indicating that the top-of-the-page suggestions aren't judged good enough, here are some I made earlier... THE FRENCH CONNECTION LIVES! A celebration of 20-years of UK 2CV racing VIVE 2CV RACING! 20-years of wheel-to-wheel thrills MALLORY AND SWERVING* 20-years of 2CVs-the summit of one-make racing
Obviously the strapline would be in large type, possibly caps as indicated, with the sub-head in upper & lower case, so it would all balance out... * Mallory and Irving, geddit? Probably a bit obscure for modern tastes

VIVE 2CV RACING! 20-years of wheel-to-wheel thrills I think this says it all - good to have the words racing and 2CV in the title

I thought we were looking for something not "in the park" now.My two favourites would have to be andy's "2cv jubilee" and franks "vive 2cv racing"

If 2CVGB are going to arrange a biggish camping weekend meet and we are going to have a Saturday track day pretty much for all-comers and we are hopefully going to have a good number of guest 2CV's and other Citroens there over the w/e and we are going to have some serious full grid 2CV races on the Sunday then I had in mind that the title should try to embrace all that good stuff going on.
Hence, '2CV's Around The Lake' has a little intrique to it and generally works quite well as a headline. The quest for an event title has got some good discussion going, which is very healthy. No doubt Sir will shortly make the final choice - he's now got plenty of suggestions to choose from.
