Title: Offering Help for the 24hr Snetterton
Post by: Kitchpoo on November 18, 2017, 08:49:43
I've been chatting to Chris Yates as to find a way to match up with a team and this seems the place to ask..

Me and my son have enjoyed the 24hr before but purely as spectators but we want to be more involved as the spirit of the 24hr is everyone helping.

We live 40 mins away from Snetterton and will be in our caravan on site for the weekend. I have restored vehicles and have a reasonable mechanical knowledge, though, a little out of practice.

This is the stumbling block though. My son will only be 14 1/2  at the time of the race next year.  I've contacted MSV and their interpretation is that the garage is part of the pits . However, he is a big 14 year old, long hair, deep voice, almost 6ft and could almost pass for 18. A recent visit to Snetterton and the stewards had no issue with him going to the pit wall!

So it's a bit of a strange request here, we would love to align ourselves to a team, but we may have to leave if a steward enforces it.  A local team to Norfolk would be handy as we could spend time prior to ensure roles and ability.

Fingers crossed, dad Paul and Son Ben

hi paul,
We always run a car and are based fairly local. My workshop is at Wisbech.
I am sure we can find you a job to do and dont't have an issue with Ben.
There are certain qualifications you need to possess though. you need to like eating good food, must like drinking beer and can't be too sensitive
when it comes to pi__ taking.
If all the above sounds ok give me a bell sometime. 07768441094.

Thankyou.  I've messaged you Wayne.  I fear I may be overqualified!
