Title: Drive wanted
Post by: Graeme Cuthbert on October 14, 2018, 21:51:08
hi after chatting with a 2cv racer via facebook,i wonder if anyone could advise me of any available drives and costs involved, more specifically the 24hr event  ,i have a Nat A race licence and a wide range of motor racing experience from oval racing, autograss, road rallying and i am the 2017 SMRC scottish fiesta xr2 champion,so not lacking in experience.

Drives for the 24hr race go from £1200 upwards depending on the package.
Some cars run 3 drivers some up to 5 plus it also comes down to the cars history, race support, catering etc
Chris Yates or Alec Graham are the best people to talk to about getting a drive

Hi Graeme.
Its definately a race that should be on your bucket list. there is nothing else quite like it.
I usually do the matchmaking. finding available seats for drivers and so forth. There are usually lots more drivers wanting to compete than there are seats available. It is a bit early though for me to be trying to arrange something. However you are first in the line and with your experience it will be no problem.
Perhaps you might like to compete in  a sprint too?

There is still a Scottish car competing, Graeme. If you fancy a test session/track day/2CV familiarisation session at Knockhill at some point, then let me know (the car lives with JP near Doune).

Hi Derek, that would be really useful, perhaps we could do something at the beginning of next year, only thinking about the impending colder weather

Good idea. Gives me time to sort an engine out, too!

Hello fellow drivers. I'm also looking for a drive for next year. Any help on price & any team that have a seat to rent? What tracks will you be attending? Thanks rob

Hi buddy, not raced on a track with you for a year now. Would be good to be in the same car as you next year if we can get that sorted on here. You still got the same phone number? I'll bell you 😁. Still not heard nothing on price & tracks but checked out them on you tube 😁. fun fun fun

Hi guys,
We don't have our calendar for next year fully finalised yet except for the 24hr race. Price depends very much on which car and team and extras inc people to run it, caterinf etc. There may be a car you could hire to share for sprint rounds as we always have double headers and a lot of teams have a different driver for each race. I think a test day in a Scottish car sounds like a perfect way to start though :)

Hi guys/girl. I've driven a c1 at rockingham 24hr race this year with no damage. Think 2cv test day would be good 👍 keep me posted on dates & any spare seat for hire for 2019. Can't wait 👍 regards rob
