Ainslie Bousfield

Hello All,

The CEO where I work, Richard Green is a petrol head and has entered a team into the Birkett 6 hour Relay Race that takes place at Silverstone on the 30th October. The team consists of 6 so knowing that Ainslie goes racing (and has experience of endurances) asked if he wanted to join in and take his Caterham C400 for a spin (not literally we hope!) round the track a few times.

Sadly earlier this year Richard lost his wife to cancer and is on a mission to find ways of raising money for Cancer Research and the invaluable work they do. So having covered the cost of the team himself we are looking for donations/sponsorship for the team which will go directly to the charity.

Please follow the link below to a JustGiving web page that will allow you to sponsor them should you so wish, no matter how small a contribution it all helps!

Thanks all
Tracey

Thank you all for your support – the weekend went well with the team finishing 22nd out of 60 teams. Ainslie had some track time in Friday practice to get used to the car and the full circuit. It was a dry day so he got his confidence up once he was braver with the right pedal!
On Saturday morning the car then had an alternator problem and wouldn't re-start so Ainslie didn't get to do his 3 qualifying laps – luckily the officials cleared him to take part in the race.
The race started with the other team members doing their stints in turn until the Caterham was fixed and it was Ainslie's turn to go out. By this time it had been raining so the target was to put a fast lap in without spinning as the conditions were so different. Despite the car and weather issues (and other challenges too numerous to mention!) the team had fun and gained valuable experience for next time.
The team so far have raised £1,885 for Cancer Research and if you would like to make a donation it is not too late to do so - please go to www.justgiving.com/ubisense.
Many thanks again, Tracey
