Walking around the pits at Brands I noticed on some of the engines laying around the pit area of ours, that some of them had slotted flywheels and some had solid lightened flywheels - I need to get another flywheel just wondering whats the difference is it just a preference or a tech reason for it - the three engines I have at home all have slotted.

Some badly machined slotted flywheels broke Simon. The only problem with solid ones is they are prone to overheating the clutch and release bearing, you may find your clutch noisy in operation after the 24hr race.
