I believe he lost an arm to lightning in a storm. I'm gutted too. The Scary Tree is as iconic to Snetterton as the Lodge is to Oulton Park.

Hi All
Had a chat with Snetterton circuit manager yesterday and he told me that although the tree is now all but dead and collapsed that have decided to get a local sculpture to create a replica from scrap, they are collecting as much scrap metal (Old Car Parts) as they can for the project and once in place they will then let the ivy grow over it again..
This is an update on the poorly tree.
