Hello people!

We've decided to put Car 43 up for sale because it isn't getting the use that it deserves.

Most of you will know that this car was built by the legends at Tête Rouge for Richard Lambert on a Frome chassis, and that it ran very successfully in the 24hrs with a string of 2nds and 3rds.

In late 2015, the car came up for sale as the Lamberts moved on to a different race series,  so we bought it with the intention of running it alongside our existing cars, 4 and 44 in the 24hrs.

Some details:
1.   Safely belts that were new in 2013.
2.   Fire extinguisher, just serviced
3.   Custom made dash, which works very well.  Has digital  temp gauge and fan sensor
4.   No data logger in the car, but there are wires for revs and afr
5.   Steering wheel on a removable boss
6.   Vent flap functioning
7.   No heated screen
8.   High power alternator
9.   Stack lambda / AFR sensor / gauge.  2014
10.   The brakes have cooling fins; new master cylinder & rebuilt rear brakes
11.   Underlying chassis- Frome
12.   All suspension arms reinforced
13.   Engine refreshed August 2017 (zero hours now)

We ran it in 2016 in the 24hr at Anglesey with a group of pay drivers, all of whom said it was an excellent drive.  One of them had a couple of accidents which took some time to repair, but they still managed an 8th place.  Prior to the 2017 24hr, we had the car fully prepped by Richard Dalton, the bill for which we can provide along with a stack of other bills!  Unfortunately the person who had booked the car to drive in 2017 had to cancel very late on, so couldn't find a replacement driver team in time for the race, which was a great shame.  It was literally ready to roll, including all the tyres buffed and ready and has not been driven since.

The car is still at Richard Dalton's Citroen specialist garage in Stoke

We'd include the following spares:
•   Engine (rebuilt and not run since by Kris Tovey)
•   Spare wings
•   Spare door
•   Spare splitter
•   13 spare wheels (with used tyres)
•   Dampers, gearlever, lights bar
•   Engine electrics
•   Fans with Burton Backs
•   Spare weber, some solex bits and various other engine parts / spares
•   Spare manifolds
•   Box of filters & other consumables

Post a reply if you're interested!

Ahhh but this was the car has a more interesting history than that: originally built new by Mike Cooper for Peter Scatchard, it was raced with almost complete lack of success by him and me for a couple of years.  I remember towing the car to Knockhill and we didn't qualify (remember when there were too many cars on the grid??), watching the race and then 400 miles back home - joy! We always blamed whoever produced the engines until we finally persuaded the Great Graham Harper to build us one.  That excuse was no longer viable and the car got us up to well inside the top ten at Mondello one year until a person who shall remain nameless brake tested me at the second haipin.  I then reshelled the car and rebuilt it to fit the original low weight spec. we used to have to run and it then needed ballast to make the grade.  We consistently did pretty badly although it handled rather better after we removed the front roll bar.  Steve Jaques bought the car and it finally got the budget and driving skills to run at least with the midfield and sometimes better than that.  Under Paul R's care and now owned by Richard L. the car started to be right on it and but for a couple of really irritating and very minor problems it would have won the 24 hour at least once.  Despite the fact that Matt and Richard were faster than me and clearly overstressed the car, apparently it was my gear shift technique that was mostly to blame - but I plead insanity.

I quote extensively of course from the race drivers book of excuses....

Thanks Francis!

I hadn't appreciated how much development had gone into it.

Go on then
Wayne,i think you're supposed to say you're interested. It would save you having to build an engine in the next two weeks.

Looking forward to seeing it out again. Sold to anyone we know?

By the way we came 2nd in the 24hr, in 2013, 2014 and 2015.... but should have won if wasn't for some bad luck and that pesky Sparrow !  ???

The car also finished 2nd (drivers 3rd and 4th) in the 2014 and 2015 championships, so it went pretty well.
