Spa 24 Hour 2019

Nick Roads

The Spa 24 Hour race is taking place Friday 25 to Sunday 27 October.

Its open to all UK 2CV's whether they are economy class (Classique)/ UK Club class or UK BMW based hybrids. The race will start at 5 pm approx on the Saturday with qualifying earlier in the day. The Friday has a number of test sessions some of which are included for entered cars and others which can be paid for at the track.

The UK club will be co-coordinating entries for UK 2CV teams and the cost for the race entry, some testing sessions on the Friday and 2CVRT membership for 4 drivers will be close to but less than £ 3500 per car.

2CV Classic (602 engine) : 100% (10/10) ranked AND finished
2CV Proto (652 engine) : 100% (2/2) ranked AND finished

2CV Expérimental : 80% (4/5) ranked, 80% (4/5) finished
2CV Hybride (BMW engine) : 85% (22/26) ranked , 73% (19/26) finished
2CV Guest : (BMW engine) 33% (1/3) ranked , 100% (3/3) finished

C1 RacingCup : 82% (32/39) ranked , 64% (25/39) finished
C1 NL : 89% (8/9)  ranked,89% (8/9) finished
C1 UK : 94% (46/49) ranked , 84% (41/49) finished

Morality 1 : even not ranked, 2CV UK enthusiasts absolutely want to cross the finish line   :)
Morality 2 : to be 100% ranked AND finish the race... use a Citroën bicylinder   8)

Hi Marty

It helps to not drive your car into a wall which is what happened to my car and then spend 14 hours repairing the damage!

Hoping to see all the 2CV's bicylinders make it to Snetterton this year, no C1's but there will be the classic Minis with their 998 4 cylinder engines (:

For info of others RACB in Belgium require all cars to be ranked to have completed 50% of the laps of the lead car.
