Just a quick heads up regarding this race meeting and all others going forward

Two lucky entrants will be selected for alcohol testing from each championship on Saturday morning (and potentially Sunday morning too). The selection will be completely random

The tolerance........ is zero. If you are selected and the testing shows alcohol in your system, you will not be allowed to participate

Please take care!!!!
Some days, it's REALLY difficult being me!

Paul

So if it's random Trev does that mean someone that races on Saturday could get tested on Sunday?

Trevor Williams

Paul
I believe it will happen on both Saturday and Sunday. It is random because the MSUK Steward will be asked to select two drivers from each championship / series rather than anyone from BARC

Looks like Liens' the champion elect then.  Most others will be buggered!   ;D

The latest timetable attached so racing both days. 20 cars entered so thanks to all who have been busy over the winter preparing cars, the club (Chris!) chasing the final details and we will post entry list in next couple of days.

Garages going to be 5A to 6B.

Polite reminder to keep all the friends and crew on good behaviour as well as the drivers. There was a complaint as to late night noise last year on the Saturday night when we were at Silverstone which I am sure will not happen again (:

this has just been posted on our announcements part of the forum. We will update here as to what we hear from BARC and also on our facebook page during this week regarding the racing this weekend.

As a club we discussed over the weekend and agreed this update on Coronavirus and the 2020 racing season.

Sprint racing: If races are cancelled, then we will offer a full refund on the entry paid. For those who have paid the Sprint championship season cost of £ 2100 then this would be ¼ of what has been paid (£ 525) for each of the 4 race weekend's planned.

24 Hour race: For all who have entered the 24 Hour race (29 teams) then we are varying the non-refundable clause on the entry form so that the £ 200 paid is refundable at any time up to 1 May which is when the next payment is due. We will review further during April.

Motorsport UK COVID-19 Update
It is with regret that Motorsport UK is suspending all organising permits and Certificates of Exemption until at least 30th April 2020. This suspension follows the latest guidance issued by HM UK Government in response to the outbreak of COVID-19. This position will be constantly reviewed given prevailing information.

As the National Governing Body, we would ask all Motorsport UK members to act responsibly and follow the Government's guidance during this difficult time.

We thank all of our members, organisers, officials, volunteers, staff and their families for their support during these unprecedented times.  We will continue to monitor the situation and will resume sporting activity as soon as we are able. We also have a responsibility and duty of care to our staff who will be working from home, so please be patient with any queries you may have.

David Richards, chairman of Motorsport UK, explained, "Clearly we live in challenging times and exceptional measures are required. The decision to suspend Motorsport UK permits on a temporary basis is not one that was taken lightly as the industry employs many thousands of people. However we have an over-riding responsibility to our members and the friends and families of our community. Furthermore, our social responsibilities extend to the broader population and the potential drain on valuable public health resources on which we are all reliant.

"The situation is very fluid and we will continue to monitor developments over the coming weeks and hope that we can resume the annual motorsport calendar at the opportune moment. In the immediate short term our efforts need to be focused on ensuring that the industry that backs up the sport has the financial support that it requires from the Government in order that it can be sustained beyond this extraordinary scenario."
