So how are people bypassing/solving this problem from the 24hr?

Is it all in the timing or have I missed something more obvious (being a girlie...quite probably).

Is it just pistons and valves that are getting knackered or are people losing cranks, cams, barrels, etc; out of this too?

I know, curiosity killed...but satisfaction...
