It's all different!!

Things look good so far even though some of the info is out of date (may be worth amending joining costs sooner rather than later!)

Well done to all involved, looking forward to next year already, promise not to cause too much trouble!

Hello Catherine

I am glad that "Things look good so far"  and I take your  point "even though some of the info is out of date (may be worth amending joining costs sooner rather than later!)" - If you have any specific corrections do please post them (perhaps start a special thread.)

Could you put a bit more in your login details (at least for the moment) i.e. full name and connection with the club.  We would like to start the new forum with clear material so that those who are new don't feel excluded by not knowing nick-names as well as having to deal with the new controls and options.

I hope you enjoy your future interactions on this forum

Best wishes from Dick Roberts

Sorry got wrong end of stick re-info, hence email!! Hadn't gotten around to checking the forum when I responded!! Sorry, you'll soon realise I've no intelligence!!

Cheers for adding 'Scotland' to locations and no objections to name adjustment either! Will try and obtain some nice pictures of the car for display somewhere at some stage, most likely will take some at 2cvGB world meeting in July 2005 so it'll be a bit of a wait!!

Off to look for spelling mistakes in my lab report!!

Best wishes

Hello Catherine

Thanks for posting your message to the forum - You are the first person to post a reply to the new forum and it will be most helpful to everyone to see by example how the strings within topics within forums work.  The new mechanisms are fairly straightforward but, like all new things, might take a bit of getting used to.

I look forward to meeting you at the World meeting in Scotland.

Best wishes from Dick Roberts

Catherine mentioned in one of her early messages that there were errors on the web site and I replied..... "Hello Catherine

I think the joining cost you mentioned might still be on the web (incorrectly)  I wonder if you could be kind enough to let me know the page address (like http://2cv-racing.org.uk/noticeboard/viewtopic.php ) so that I can correct it.  There were over 500 pages on the old site some with half eaten breakfasts and I may have brought something back from the dead by mistake.

You may have noticed that the new forum has the spot-the-speaker facility in the form of a snap of the poster.  I wonder if you would like to use this feature.  If so just send me a photo attachment and you can have the photo included too.

Best wishes from Dick Roberts "

Soon after I was delighted to recieve clear instruction that will help the credibility of the Club's Web information (Catherine's message follows).

I am most gratful to Catherine for having taken the time to do this and I would appreciate it if anyone who spots an error could take the same approach.

THe 'big job' of converting the web has been done but like a car maintenance is an ongoing thing.

Catherine's Message .....Hello!

Spotted the costs on these:
http://www.2cv-racing.org.uk/overview/newsletter.htm
http://www.2cv-racing.org.uk/overview/sales.htm
http://www.2cv-racing.org.uk/mondello/mond%204.htm

Might be worth amending 'good availability' to just 'availability' - scrap vehicles are getting harder to find in my opinion, the club may hold a different view. Abundance of parts still exists though thanks to ECAS and similar.

Graham Harper is listed twice, not too sure why?! I think the team had one number for the 24hr and another for the season last year but I can't quite remember!!

Link to forum comes up as an error, then the members only link enables you to utilise the old password to the members only area - not sure if this is wanting to be kept or not.

Haven't been through the whole site as yet (unusual for me but uni keeping me busy!!) Will try and organise a photo of me over Christmas for the site as that would be a good feature to utilise!

Best wishes
Catherine"
