I suppose I'd better stick in my ha'pence-worth; I had a thoroughly good time at Oulton; I didn't break anything, didn't bend anything and had a cracking race with Peter Wann and others. I know that I'm not exactly at the sharp end of the field, but there are always more runners-up than winners. I found 2cvs as a way to go racing on a normal wage; the only complaint I'd have against a "control cam" is that I'd have to buy maybe three of them and that I could do almost two races for a similar sum. On the other hand, I do appreciate that the "standard" Citroën cam is difficult to police; on grounds of cost, all of mine have come from used engines and scrap road cars and remain "as found". My concern is that as grey areas are closed up, more complicated ones may appear and the "small bills" ethos may fade away.
